LONDON, 19th May. Playing for Glamorgan against Sur-. rey at the Oval W. Bates made 120 and J. Mercer, in'the,first.innings, captured six wickets for 93, and in the second innings W. Sadler,.for Surrey', took five for 66. For , the same side S. Fenley took six for 40, while J. B. Hobbs scored 109 and A. Jeacocke 140.
At Leyton, playing for Middlesex against Essex, G. T. S. Stevens scored 113 and T. J. Durston captured five wickets for 12 runs. .
C. P. Mead, playing for Hampshire against Gloucestershire, at Southampton,' scored 162.
Playing for Lancashire against .Worcestershire" at Liverpool, 0. Hallows made 100 and E. Tyldesley not out 110. C. Parkin, for the same side, took five wickets for 52 runs, and R. Tyldesley took five, for 19.
At Leicester, playing for the home side against Kent, G. Geary scored 122,' and for the visitors A. P. Freeman took five wickets' for 29' runs.
Playing for Yorkshire against Northamptonshire at Sheffield, E. Robinson scored 112 not out, and also took five wickets for 44 runs.
In the Warwickshire-Somerset match at Birmingham, N. E. Partridge, playing for Warwick, scored 102.
