BABY SUFFOCATED BY CAT

CHRISTCHURCH, 18th May. A seven-months-old baby, Laura Eileen Wi&kers, of Addington, was suffocated by a cat lying across her face. This morning the child was dressed and put in its pram on the sunny part of the verandah. At 10.45 a.m. an elder daughter went out,on the verandah to find the cat lying -across the child's ' face. She immediately called her mother, who saw there was something wrong with the child, and Dr. Brown was summoned. All efforts at resuscitation failed.
