MANAGEMENT. COMMITTEE MEETS. ' ■
Various matters in connection with the game were discussed at a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey Association last night. Mr. R Thompson was in the chair, and there was .n. good attendance.
It was decided to challenge Auckland for the Zanol Cup, for Ist August, and thus meet the wishes of the Canterbury Association, which ha 3 already challenged the Northern association.
Reduced return fares in trams for boys of sixteen years and under, who travel to ■ their various sports grounds on Saturdays, are being sought by.the association, which intends to communicate with the Sports Protection League on the matter. It is proposed that 6d shall be the maximum charge. ' .
Teams to visit Wairarapa and Wanganui on 3rd June are.to.be selected by Messrs. Fildes, MacAlister, and Seddon, who will also appoint, managers for the teams. Those to.go to Wanganui will be junior and senior B, and.that to visit the Wairarapa senior, both A and B.
The appointment of a senior selector was postponed until a future meeting. 'The secretary, the treasurer, and. Mr. Hood were appointed a sub-committee to draw up a new scale of/ground fees immediately fpi' this season.
A subcommittee "consisting of Messrs. W. Hood, L. Butcher, arid the chairman, was appointed to revise the rules of the association. "-.-.. .■'■ :
