DE LUXE THEATRE.

Gloaming, New Zealand's champion racehorse, has a particular place on the programme at the De Luxe Theatre this week, when a picture showing ' the great. race against The Hawk- ior tlia Ormond Memorial Cup at Hastings recently is being screened. The picture shows the two horses in their respective loose-boxes, and later gives the various stages of the race, including the finish, when Gloaming wins by a length from the Australian representative. The scenes in and around the beautiful Hastings course, including views of the lawn and saddling paddock, are splendid, and worthy of> anybody's attention, whether they themselves go to races or stop away. Before the interval a very . humorous comedy picture was -screened, entitled "The Speed Kid." The featured picture on the programme is "Inez from Hollywood," in which Anna.Q. Nilsson, Lewis Stone, and Mary Astor take the leading roles. The main point about the picture is that Hollywood is not the wicked place so many people think, most of - the sensational happenings there being by way of advertisement. What the truth in this direction may be, "Inez of Hollywood" has an ending that one looks for in every real love story—they married, and Jived happy ever after. Mr. L. D. Austin and his fine orchestra play many delightful selections. The programme will be; repeated to-night and each evening to Thursday.
