(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 17th May. Opposition to the silk tax is strengthening. . Sunda,y papers of all shades of opinion unanimously condemn it. The "Sunday Times" does not think the tax will survive the destructive criticism pouring in upon it, and declares that Mr. Churchill thought he was taxing a luxury, but he now knows that he is taxing a vital raw material.
