NEW YORK, 17th May. ' The newspapers claim that "Kum Row" has been wiped out. Every liquor ship was picketed by two swift patrol boats, armed with one-pounders, and supporting these is a number of Navy destroyers. The pickets hang within a hundred yards of the "bootleggers," who have become so harried that their organisation is disintegrated, and they have scattered in all directions. lii many instances they auctioned their cargoes at a tithe of their value.
