WELLINGTON AND 'VARSITY , DRAW.

For the first fifteen minutes play was very mediocre. There was little or no combination, and indiscriminate hitting was often in evidence. As the game continued, however, play brightened up, and by the end of the first sjipll both sides were playing good, solid hockey. From the outset " 'Varsity attacked strongly; but they were repelled time and time again by the Wellington backs. Wellington were' first to score, O'Brien [securing; a good goal. Before the end I of the spell Ham opened up 'Varsity's scoring account, notching a good goal n-om a smart piece of play. After the interval the pace became a "cracker," and-, from a spectator's point of view was now really, interesting. 'Varsity were navtng slightly the best of matters,' and continuously they were in the Beds' twenty-five. From a spirited forward rush Paul placed another goal to the credit of 'Varsity. Wellington kept hard on the ball. Into the Greens' circle went the -Wellington vanguard, and Millen, with a well-timed shot, notched a further goal for .Wellington. Urged on by supporters on-the line, 'Varsity drove I Wellington back again, and Ham, who was playing a great game, added his •second . goal for the . Collegians. With tmly a few/more, minutes to go, it seemed that 'Varsity, would win. Wellington,: however,-retaliated, aW in a wellcombined forward sally O'Brien netted to bring the score once more on level terms. The whistle sounded shortly aflerwards,;and a cleanry-fought and vigorous contest ended Wellington 3, 'Varsity 3. Mr.' Lloyd was the referee.
