KILBIRNIE.
There was a large attendance of householders and parents at the annual householders' meeting of the Kilbirnie SchooL in spite of the weather. Mr. A. E. Wells, chairman, presided. The annual report, already published, and balancesheet, were adopted. Emphasis was laid by the chairman on the inadequacy of the committee's capitation for tho purpose of school cleaning. Fortunately, the committee had, been able to derive some , revenue from the lease of the tennis courts and other sources. Figures were quoted to show the state of affairs. The necessity for the replacement of school furniture was also stressed. Several householders expressed their satisfaction and appreciation at the work of the committee The headmaster (Mr.'Kidson) in the course of his report, attributed the decreased attendance in the infant school to the reluctance of parents just at the present time to let the youngest children attend school, following the recent epidemic. Before the election of the new committee took place tributes were paid to retiring members, Messrs Stoop and Worth, for their work, and a hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation. The following committee was elected : A. E. Wells, A. G. Jorgensen, W. Cowan J G. Marshall, A. G. Wallace, and A. E. Morton. .
