A TRAGEDY
ON THE SHORE OF LAKE ROTOMA
BODIES OP A MAN AND C4IRL FOUND.
(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WHAKATANE, This Day. A man and a woman were found dead with gunshot wounds on the beach at Lake Rotoma at 10 o'clock this morning. Nearby was a Dodge car, number 26,602. The police are investigating. ROTORUA, This Day. News was received at noon that a man and a girl had been found shot alongside a motor-car at Lake Eotoma. M. Tomes, of the Public Works Department, who was working near the road, heard shots and, investigated. He found a girl about ten, shot through the breast, and a man with his head blown off Tlie weapon used was a single-barrel shot-gun sawn off short. ; The car is a Dodge, No. 20-602. A man named Relph was speaking to deceased ten minutes before the tragedy. The identity of the victims is not known. [The plate bearing the number 20—602' was issued at Hamilton.]
