(BI TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL TO THE TOUT.) OAETEBTON, This Day. Soon after midnight on Saturday a fire was discovered in the office of Mr. H. Knutson's grocery store. It originated apparently behind some pigeon holes, but what caused it is a mystery. Fortunately, it was caught in the incipient stage, and the damage was confined to the ollice. The building is covered with a policy in the Atlas office. Saturday's football results in the South Wairarapa were :—Senior : Carterton 33, Martinborough 0: Gladstone 14, Fcathei-ston 3. Junior Northern Division : Masterton 19, Carterton 9; Southern Division.: Martinborough 13, iulm-iingi 6; Ifeatherston 19, Grey town. 3; Masterton 09,. Martinborough 3} YJU.C.A. 31, Grevlown 0. 'J'lic Ciirterion branch of the Farmers' Union will be represented by Messrs 0. Iveid and ]■].. W. Keinplon at the Pro-' yiiu-ial Coiifcr.:i.eo. Messrs. C. Ko,M, 11. W. Kimipton, and T. Anderson hava been nominated lor the council.
