A HUNT FOR PERMITS
Hunt clubs constituted the before-' breakfast topic during the Gaming Bill "stonewall" in the House of Representatives this morning. , Mr. J. O'Brien (Westland),. who was interested in maintaining the discussion, affected ignorance of the situation. He wished to know, for instance, if the Pakaranga Hunt Club had its own course. "Surely they don't ride down | the main street?" he protested. "What do they hunt?" he concluded. Mr. Potter: '"They hunt for ' permits." Mr. O'Brien suggested that if this club obtained a permit it would race at Ellerslie, which would thus get licenses out of all proportion. ,■
