The New Zealand touring team defeated Lancashire At Manchester, the score being 23 points to nil. (Received 23rd October, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, 22nd October. Following is the All Black team: — Full-back: G. Nepia. Three-quarters: A. H. Hart, A.. E. Cooke, K. S. Svenson! Five-eighths: L. Paewai, N. P. M'Gregor.. v ' " ,' Half: W. C. Dalley. Wing-forward: C. G. Porter. Forwards: A. White, W. R. Irvine, R. R Masters, M. Brownlie, J. Richardson, L. F. Cupples, and R. L. Stewart. The game was played on the historic ground of Old Trafford 'Park, there being 40,000 spectators. Contrary to the usual practice, New Zealand began on the defensive, but within ten minutes this was altered, Porter getting over easily from a scramble near the posts. Nepia converted. The Lancashire backs played loosely, and their tackling was weak. From another scramble Richardson scored a try, which Nepia failed to convert. From some good passing soon afterwards Svenson; who smartly fielded a rebound off a Lancashire player, scored near the corner.' Nepia again failed to convert. Porter scored again in a similar fashion. Nepia failed with the kick. Before half-time Cooke also scored. At halftime the score was New Zealand ;,,, 17 Lancashire > 0 A Lancashire rush early in the second spell compelled the All Blacks to force. The, visitors' forwards dribbled near the line; and Masters fell across, but Richardson failed with the kick: From a line-out Stewart.fed the backs, and good passing eventuated, from which Cooke scored his second try.
