LABOUR SHARES
COMPANIES EMPOWERING BILL.
A Bill on the lines of that which was before Parliament "last session, authorising companies to issue labour shares to persons in their service, was introduced in the Legislative Council last ni^ht by Sir Francis Bell.
The Companies Empowering Bill provides that any company may issue labour shares if empowered to do so by memorandum of association. "The shares are to have no nominal value, and are not to.form part of the capital oE the company. Holders of shares are to have all the privileges of other shareholders. No scheme for the issue of shares is to be valid unless the Arbitration Court certifies that it is favourable to the workersi
