COSTS AGAINST U.S.S. CO,

SYDNEY, 29th September. The Admiralty Court Judge has delivered, judgment in the cross actions arising out of the collision between the steamers Kooyong and Whangape in Darling Harbour last February. The M'llwraith M'Eacharn Company, owners of the Kooyong, claimed £4000 damages, and the Union Company, owners of the Whangape, claimed £12,000. The Judge considered the master of the Whangape blameable- for the collision in not keeping out of the Kooyong's way, "but he was not prepared to say that the Kooyong did not contribute towards the collision. The Court ordered the Union Company to pay the cost of the Kooyong's damages, when the amount was ascertained, also to pay the costs of the action.
