WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the Wellington War Relief Association was held yesterday. Mr. L. O. H. Tripp presided, and there were also present Messrs. G. Mitchell, C. M. Luke, D. M'Laren, A. Macintosh, and G. Shirtcliffe. The Finance Committee reported that since the last meeting it had dealt with fourteen applications for loans of an aggregate value of £1428. Of these applications, four were new. Two of them were approved, and two were declined, there being no evidence of war disability. ' Expenditure during the month of August amounted to £696 3s 9d, and the -income £427 2s 4d, showing ah excess of expenditure ovei income of £269 Is sd. Tho totnl available funds as at 31st August amounted to £33.596 18s lid.
