FOR BRAVERY
HUMANE SOCIETY'S BRONZE MEDAL. (HI rEtHfIRAPn.-PRF.S3 ASSOCIATION.) FEILDING, This Day. The Mayor, Mr. J. S. Tingey, last night, before a large assemblage, presented the Royal Humano Society's bronze medal awarded to Ronald T. B. Eade for an act of bravery on 22nd January. On that date, at Kakarilri. Mrs. Mnnagh, o£ Halcoinbe, got into, difficulties in the Rangitikei River in rescuing her little daughter. Miss Ward, of Marton, waded out and saved the girl. Bade dived off the railway bridge, 32 feet from the water, fully clothed, except his coat, and rescued Mrs. Manngh. He applied resuscitation methods successfully. Ende is n member of a wellknown swimming family. Ho lost two brothers at the war.
