TECHNICAL CADETS. , The New Plymouth Technical College Cadets have won the trophy presented by His Excellency the Governor-General for competition by the units participating in the Imperial Challenge Shield rifle shooting competition. High School Cadets, score 82.6. j The winners of the senior and junior ' shields will not be known until the scores of the best units in each Dominion and the Mother Country have been received and compared by the Nationil Rifle Association of Great Britain. The New Plymouth Technical Colleee Cadets, who won the Governor-General'3 trophy this year, were second in the competition last year, being beaten by a narrow margin by the New Plymouth Boys' High School Cadets. Owing to the more exacting conditions of the competition this year there has been a drop in tho number of competitors from New Zealand. Last year some 4300 cadets took part in the competition, as against 3634 this year. ]
