THE DAY IN PARLIAMENT
Members- of the House of Representatives had plenty to occupy their" time yesterday. The afternoon was spent in discussing the annual reports of the Marine' and Forestry' Departments,^ and at the evening sitting the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. R. F. Bollard) moved the second reading of the Motor .Vehicles Bill, This brought on a long debate, which lasted until 1 o'clock this morning. The Bill was freely criticised, but at length the second reading was agreed to, and the measure was referred to a Select Committee which is to hear evidence from local bodies and motorists. The Borstal Institutions' Establishment Bill having been read a second.time, the House rose at 1.13 a.m. until 2.30 p.m. to-day. •::
