MELBOURNE, 10th. September. ■ The fact that Miss Enwright met her death by foul play has been proved beyond- doubt.- "An inquest has .. been opened. Medical evidence disclosed that there wore, two bullet wounds in the head, and portions of flattened bullets. o£ small calibre -were- entangled in the- hair. The indications were that Miss Enwright was shot.from a coni siderablo distance. She had apparently been dead for several weeks. The deceased -inherited ;i farm of- 293 .acres from her -father, and had lived a lonely life- shico the death of .her mother, twelve years ago. Rumours are current that sho kept a large ■ sum of money in the house, which had been ransacked, .'apparently at the timu of the tragedy. . . . (Received 11th September; 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Miss Enwright was. last seen alive on 27th July, when, after a-.'visit to Yack■dandah, she was driven by a neighbour to within a hundred yards of her house. When neighbours forced an entrance to 'the* house, they found the bed unmade, and the clothes usually worn by Miss Enwright when away trom home in her room. The farm was badly neglected. It is not thought possible that the unfortunate woman could have possessed much means. The police are endeavouring to find a person who was seen speaking to her on 27th July.
