"THE MIDNIGHT ALARM."
One of the most' stupendous fires ever seen is -offered as a spectacle iii the Vitagraph super.-production, "The Midnigh); Alarm.'' which will be screened lor the lirst time at the Empress Theatre to-morvow. An entire block of buildings was erected, and their ■ destruction., and the rescue o( the leading characters (Alice Calhoun and Percy Marmond) from the flames, thrilled Los-An-geles, and it has since thrilled every person who has seen the picture. The supporting .programme is ail excellent one, including 'as it does the latest Empress News film, a travelogue, and a new Our Gang 1 comedy, "The Dogs of AVar." J.ne Empress Symphony Orchestra, under Mr. M. Dixon,' contributes materially to the entertainment, with a programme ot judiciously: selected music. The box plan is at The Bristol till 5.30 p.m., then at the theatre.
