£ * 'MAGISTRATE MAKES ALLOWANCES, (H rELEanAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATIOIj.) i AUCKLAND, This' Day., At the Police Court to-day; 'four men, aged from 22 to 27, admitted being stowaways on the steamer Maimoa, on the voyngo from Liverpool to Auckland. They stated that they were unable to get work in England and had decided to try New Zealand.
The captain of the Maimoa said there seemed to be no limit to the stowaways. Perhaps on the next voyage there would bo a dozen. - . . ■
Mr. Poynton, S.M.:'"Well, you know what it is to be out of work. They could see prospects out here, and I must say these men seem of the right type." Ho ordered them to come-up for sentenco if called on. ,r * .
