The American Legation has not received the Persian Government reply to the American Note regarding the' murder of Mr. Imbrie; but a newspaper publishes a letter from the Foreign Minister to the American Minister, in which he says the Government and the nation are horrified, and every endeavour is being made to find the culprits, who will bo severely punished. The Government willingly consents to transfer the remains of Mr. Imbrie across Persia for embarkation on an American warship, and will defray the expenses of transport and pay proper compensation to the widow. It i"s considering the demand for guarantees of security for American citizens.
