TATE REACHES A 'HUNDRED

LONDON, 22nd June.
Playing at Leyton againet Middlesex, Essex scored 196 (J. Freeman 97). Middlesex have lost one wicket for 100 runs.
At Sheffield, Yorkshire scored 200 (M. Leyland 81) against Sussex. M. \Y. Tate took four wickets for 66 runs, and A. E. R. Gilligan four for 57. Tate is the first bowler to achieve the distinction of .taking a hundred wickets during the present season.
Playing for Somerset against Derbyshire, at Burton-on-Trent, U. Lyon made 219 not out, the highest individual score of the season.
H. T. W. Hardinge, playing for Kent against Notts, at Nottingham, scored 125.
