FROZEN MEAT PRICES.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 10th June:—"The spot market for frozen lamb and mutton is* unchanged. There are very heavy supplies of chilled beef on spot nnd to arrive. Hindquarters are quoted at 4!d and forequarters at 2d. These low prices are seriously affecting the demand for mutton."
Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the followinc cable from their London a"ents dated 20th .June:—"Quotations, ex store- New Zealand prime Canterbury lamb, 28 to 4»'s--10|d; North Island lamb, 28 to -12's, 10;<l; prime Canterbury mutton, SB to 64's, 7d; North Island mutton, 00 to (H's, fijd- ewes' 48 to 6-i's. 5Jd; New Zealand prime ox beef' ICO to 220's, hinds and fores, none. The m'ut-" ton market is quiet with prices veakeiilui; but there is a fair trade in lambs. As compared with last week's quotations North Island lamb is }d cheaper."
The New Zealand Loan- and Mercanile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house under date 20th June:—"New Zealand Frozen Meat: No alterations. Lamb. 103 d per lb average; mutton, wether' and maiden ewe light Tid, heavy GJ'd; ewe, light sJii, heavy 4|d."
