PROGRESS OF LOWER GRADES

PETONE'S TINE AVERAGE.

The most noticeable feature in the junior tables for the Wellington Rugby Union's various competitions, which have been compiled by Mr. Gordon Jackson, is the fact that the Petone Club is represented amongst the leading six teams in all grades except ihe intermediate, where tne club's team is ninth. In the fifth grade Petone ia first and tinrd, and in the seventh first, second m the fourth, and third in the sixth. Athletic, Poneke, Wellington College, and St. -Patrick's College have each three teams which occupy places amongst the fust six. In the seventh grade Technical College iave the phenomenal ay- • erage of 56 points per match, having won three games with an aggregate of 168. ISO pomts have been scored against them.
