_ The lecturer was warming to his subject, and presently came with an eloquent burst to' the statement: —
"Man, as we have seen, is a progressive being, but many other creatures are stationary. Take the ass, for example; always and everywhere the ass is the same creature. You never have seen, and never will see, more perfect ass than you soe at the present moment."
