PRESENTATION OF PRIZES
The przzes: and certificates awarded for practical and theoretical work done by students under the auspices of the Weilington_ Centre of the Trinity Collego of Musio (London) during the jast yeS* were presented at the Town Ball Coocert Chamber on. Thursday, Addressing *ke •Satherm| 1 the Mayor (Mr, R. A. Wright, M.P.;) stressed the1 educational va ue of music, and referred to th« valuable work being done by the Trinity College m conducting annual examinations in New Zealand, Musio, he said, was a study that should be encouraged among young and old. The eor^rt which followed comprised pianoforte vocal, and elocutionary items.. Piano^ forte solos were played by Misses Phyllis Fisher (junior medal), Inez King (intermediate equal), Helen Hart (intMmediate equal), Edna Sneddon (senior medal), and Vera Boesley (associate medal) j songs were sung by Misses Leone Wright (intermediate), Doris March (senior), Zoe Miller (associate): a yiolin solo was played by Miss Marjorie Harvey (intenne'diate); and recitations were given by Misses Isabel HalHgan (associate) and Miss Ula Hancock (associate), The evening concluded with the presentation of the prizes and certificates by the Mayor, The list at pnzes has already been published.
