CLOUDY AND UNSETTLED

U .Bates) states/that strong westerly to south-westerly winds have ruled with cloudy and unsettled weather. R a i n has been, fairly general, and rivers have been flooded on the West Coast. ITie "barometer has biwn unsteady in the North. There are indications of sectional disturbances operating, but these are likely to disappear1 in the near future, when southerly winds will predominate, strong to gale at times The barometer. is likely to rise everywhere, while further cloudy and unsettled weather may be expected, with rain generally and snow on the higher levels. Colder conditions are likely to, follow. Another very cold night is probable.
