Twelve members' \ have offered thenseats to General Smuts.
In a message thanking his committee, General Smuts says.: Be 61 good'cheer.' From tho wider viewpoints which shape national policy* our failure, may yet prove a, blessing- in disguise. My faith in the future remains as strong as ever. Although the immediate outlook before •the country is gloomy enough, to that faith we hold on unflinchingly." HERTZOG CONGrMTULATED
Now 'that a Hertzog Government is a certainty, tho whole Press convey them congratulations, and express the hope .that all parties -will help; the new Government. ' , ' ■ .
