Moimmentalists, Cuba Street, Palmerston North. "By their works ye shall know them," Judged by this standard the firm of Messrs. W. E. Jones and Co., the monumentalists, of Cuba street, Palmerston North, stand alone. The excellent quality of this firm's workmanship was never better illustrated than in the beautiful Memorial Arch, and fence recently completed to the order of the Terrace End School Committee. This handsome structure, which was specially designed byMr. Jones himself, is the admiration of everybody, and will not only be a lasting monument to the ex-pupils of the school who gave their lives in the Great War of 1914-1918, but will for ever stand out as a tribute to the excellence and faithfulness of Messrs. W. E. Jones and Cos. constructive ability. The arch and fence is of solid concrete The arch is 10ft high, faced with marble slabs, on which the names of the fallen are inscribed ; the fence is 4ffc in height, with massive posts all finished in fine plaster, and panels of dark red Weliirig- , ton sand. This is the finest piece of work in the district, and commends itself to other bodies desirous of perpetuating the memory of their fallen heroes. The firm's yards, in Cuba street, close by the Show Grounds, contains several thousand pounds worth of marble and granite stones, crosses, etc., representative of the largest granite firms of Aberdeen, and the famous Carrara (Italian) marble quarries. Mr. Jones is the New Zealand representative for the leading Scotch granite and Italian marble firms, and consequently is in a position tocater on an unlimited scale for the public requirements in this direction. Monuj mental work in all its branches is underj taken in any part of the district, and the j trade is supplied in any part of the Doi minion. Inquiries are invited, and for the convenience of those who cannot make a personal inspection of the firm's yards, pictorial designs and drawings will be submitted.
