At the -last meeting of tho cenenl committee of the Scottish Society and •I ipe Band, the secretary. Mr W E Boyd. reported that, with still "four months to elapso before the society's annual meeting, the year promised "to be a record one. The bank account showed an increase already as large ps last year's, and there were no liabilities' The membership was in a very satisfactory position, the roll showing a steady increase of new members. Initial arrangements wero well in hand for the members' evening, to be held shortly, at which some visitors from the South' are expected to be present.
