KING'S THEATRE.

Gorgeous gowns, j sparkling sceneSj and picturesque settings are the features of " Tho French Doll," which com,menced a week's' season at the King's Theatre last evening. Upon arrival in America, through a strange act of circumstances Georgine meets a fish magnate whose "ir.oney the art collectors are desirous of obtaining. . The fish-man is entertained by Georgine after an escapade in tho park, and is told the history of the furniture, which,' according to Georgine, was intimately associated with the unfortunate Marie-Antoinette. That introduces the magnate to part with his cheque for a' time. The story has a dramatic conclusion, when Georgine is wounded with a revolver shot intended for someone else. The programme includes a clever dog. comedy featuring "Pal." The orchestral numbers include the overture, " Shepherd's Hey " (Percy Giainger), and the entr'acte, " La Pouyee Valsante ■" (Poldini). " The' French Doll" is suitably introduced with a mannequin parade displaying the latest fashions.
