DEATH FROM INJURIES

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Daniel Welsh, who was injured at the Glenfield brick and pottery works on Thursday by being entangled in a travelling belt, died in the hospital this morning. He was a married man, aged 41, and left a wife and three children.
Members of unions and associations connected with the iron trades in Wel- | lington held a smoke concert in the' Tiades Hall last evening, Mr. A. Black,, president of the Amalgamated Engineering Union, being in the chair. There was a big gathering representative of the various .organisations connected with the trade—engineers, boilermakers, moulders, and metal workers. One of the most important toasts was that of the projjosed amalgamation of all unions, and it is expected that in a very short space of time there will be only one iron fades union in each district.. Asiatic cholera is the most, fatally rapid disease known to. medical scioiicu.
