SKIN AND HIDE SALES.
There was the usual attendance of buyers .it yesterday's local skin and hide sales. Dry skins were on a par, and good salted skins showed a slight advance in price. Lambs were in special demand. Heavy and medium hides were Jd to Jd cheaper; light cow and ox were Jd to £d up. Sheepskins.—Halfbred, led to ISJd; fine crossbred, 155C1 to 17^(1 j mcdiuiu to course crossbred, 12ld to 14} d; short to half wools, 12d to 16Jd; lambs, 12} dto lSd; dead and damaged crossbred, 9}<! to 13' d; inferior and badly damaged, Sid to 10} d; pelts, 7Jd to 12} d; damp, salted, and green, 8s 8d to 15s 7d; lambs, salted. 5s Id to 12s.
Hides.—Ox. heavy 9Jd to lOd, heavy BJd to 9Jd, medium Od to Bid, light 5Jd to (id; cut, slippy, and inferior, - 2Sd to 7Jd; cow, heavy 6Jd to CJd, medium ~sd to 5Jd, light 35d to 5Jd;. cut, slippy, and inferior, 3d to 4d; bull, stag, Id to id; yearlings, 5Jd to 7Sd; yearlings. 4Jd to Cd; calf, medium to good. BJd to 13sd: calf, damaged, 2d to lOd. Tallow.—ln casks, 20s Od to 325; in tins, etc., 15s to 21s.
