TOO MODEST
PEOPLE OF SOUTHERN
DOMINIONS
EULOGY OF AUSTRALIA AND
NEW ZEALAND.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)
(REOTEHV TELEGRAM.)
LONDON, 12th June. The "Daily Chronicle" has begun the publication of an interesting series of articles by Mr. Fenton Macpherson, its special commissioner in Australia and New Zealand, regarding the industrial possibilities of the British people in the far south. Summing up his journey, Mr. Macpherson says he found good' reason to marvel at the restraint with which Australians and New Zealanders have Written and spoken of the great possibilities of their countries. In the desire to avoid over-statement they had fallen into the error of under-etat-ing their case.
Mr. Macpherson was specially impressed with the kindly, considerate way immigrants were treated in New Zealand. There was an entire, absence of fussy officialism. Each family or individual was interviewed separately.
