_ Tho lady was signalling the tram car m tho orthodox fashion of her sex; but it did not come to a halt until ei^ht people had shouted, "Hi!" and six small boys had had an impromptu competition in shrill whistling.Thbn she glared at the conductor indignantly. ■ "Whw didn't you stop tho ear for me?" - "How was I to know you wanted to get on ?" , "Didn't' you see me Bwinging my arms and jumping up and down, and waving .my umbrella?" "Of course. Could anyone help seeing you ? Tho whole street was looking at you." ■ "Then why didn't you. stop when you caw me?" "I thought you wore dancing to that organ!"
