UPPER HUTT SALE.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held the usual ■; fortnightly sale in the Upper1 Hutt, yards on Thursday, the 10th lustunt.. A good yarding of sheep came forward, principally wethers and lambs, but the demand for sheep was considerably slacker than, at the previous sale. A number of pens of fat wethers, however, met exceedingly keen competition, heavy weight wethers making from 32s to 375. An extra good pen of well-grown ewe lambs excited keen competition, being sold at the satisfactory price of 32s 6d. There was practically uo demand for breeding ewes. We quote as under:—Medium 2-tooth wether 3, 22s fid to 255; medium woolly lambs, 34s to 15ssmall woolly lambs, 9s to 11s. A special consignment of two-year-old grade. Jersey heifers were yarded on account of Mr. Martin Sin> cox, of Otaki. These cattle came forward in excellent order and condition, and were close to profit. There wa3 very .keen bidding for each ■ heifer submitted, the line of 17 averaging £13 per head. The/heifers sold as nnder:-£2l 10s, £10. £14, three At £11 10s, three at £11 ss, £13, £12, and down to £10. Other sales were as under:—Light weight fat cows, £4 -to £4 10s; store cows, £1 5s to £2; medium springy heifers, £5 to £0 10sbulls, 30s to £2. 2s Gd. ' .
