Several vessels, received the S.O.S. call and made for the . scene, but arrive/1 too late, owing to the suddenness of the 'Wyrallah's sinking. He rushed on' dock, and heard a voica from the- Dilkera shouting: "Forj Christ's sake, jump," He jumped just I :;s the W-yrallah heeled and sank. Some members of the crew, asleep in the forecastle, narrowly escaped being, crushed tc death -when the Dilkera's iwse crashed through the vessel's side. ! . . Mr1. Montgomery, who was lost, was. ■proceeding to Wilson's Promontory to I join the lighthouse. service. The Dilkera has been docked, but the . damage is slight. ' •'
