At a'meeting of the Palmerston jSfortli Chamber of Commerce a letter was're-' ceived'from the Wellington Chamber,', drawing attention to recent Press cables-" reporting that a , Standing Economic Committee was not-likely'to eventuate,and soliciting support for a resolution passed by the Wellington Chamber to the effect that the Government make strong representations to the Imperial Government,, urging it to comply with the recommendation of the Imperial Economic Conference. It was decided that further information be secured 0n... the - subject before ,the chamber expresses an opinion. , ' ' ' At the annual meeting of the. Mana\Vatu Boxing Association officers were elected as, follow:—Patron, "Mr. P. J. Nathan; president, Mr. H. E. Bennett;" 7 vice-presidents, Messrs. H.. L.;Y.6ung and L. M.
