NATIONAL MORTGAGE
The London correspondent of "The Post" states that improved results are recorded by the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Ltd., for the year ended 30th September last. The net balance, including £5381 brought forward, amounts to £43,737, as against £30,381 a year ago/ when £8737 was brought in, and the dividend for the year is raised from 10 per cent, to 11-i per cent., while the carry forward is increased to £11,862,. Am regards the outlook, the directors say that advices from New' Zealand continue encouraging. The present high prices ruling for wool, meat, and dairy produce, if they continue, should help materially in keeping up the Dominion's prosperity. The only adverse factor at present is; the recent drought, particularly in the South Island, which may cause a somewhat serious shrinkage in production and exports. Mr. 3. B. Reid has been appointed to fill the vacancy o" the board, due to the death of Mr.' C. S. Grenfell. Directors retiring by roUiiiun are Sir Thomas (who offers himself for reelection) and Mr. \Y. S.
