A FINE PARTY

LATEST IMMIGRANTS FROM HOME

Another fine party of assisted immigrants arrived in Welliugton this niDrn.ing from Home by the A Tew Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruahine. Greater care seems to have been exercised in their selection than was formerly the case, and it is no exaggeration to state that this latest complement is one of .the finest that has made the trip to date. The increasing number of children corning out under the system is another noticeable fact, and the average family seems to number at least, four or five, and very seldom is as low as three. One and all appeared to have no doubt as to their reception in their new home, and their arrival in beautiful weather such as prevailed this'morning could not but reassure them as to the future. Altogether there were 314 in the party, comprising 84 men, 84 women, and 146 children. Those destined hv northern ports left by a train, at '2 p.m. to-day, and the southern passengers will proceed by the ferry steamer this evening.
