The Petone Club fired the third competition of the fourth series on Saturday at ranges 300 and 600 yards. The conditioss were .not favourable _ for jiigh scoring, a right front fish-tail wind being very puzzling to judge. At 300 yards. 3. Scott, with 46, was best, with A. Weir (45) close -up.. ,-.At 600. yards', W. H, Ballinger was well in front with 49 cut of 55, and topped, the score for the day._ J. Scott, W. H. Ballinger, and 1. Kershaw win spoons. ' \ ' The scores were:—

Next Saturday there will be service shooting at ranges 100 to 500 yards, for qualification and marksmen; al«o the provincial matches, home and home at 300, 500. and 600 yards
