EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION
Members and friends of , the Early Settlers Association interested in the earlier history of our own" Ideality should make apointiof attending the next meeting of -the association, to ,be held on Wednesday evening next at Dustin's Rooms. Mr. Hector M'Leod, well known for his research in the pre-pake-ha history of local .settlement; will speak tin- the. "Island History'\ of Miramax.," Miramar has a history of its. own, and many, traces of its early occupation—in the days when-hunting the'moa was one of.'the diversions of the dwellers there, when they were not engaged in defending their homes from hostile attack—can be seen, to-day. A full attendance of members is anticipated.-. 1 '" .
