FAIR WEATHER CONDITIONS
The pleasant conditions being experienced locally to-day are not altogether an indication of the weather in other parts of the Dominion. Wellington is getting the best of the prevailing conditions. There is ;i good deal of cloudiness over the Dominion, and drizzling rain was reported from Greymouth and Hokitika this morning. Atmospheric pressure is still high over tlie Dominion, and cold and fair to cloudy weather hars prevailed, with south-easterly to north-easterly breezes. Although a high barometer usually accompanies fine weatlier, the Meteorologist has to forecast possible 'changes, and at the present there is evidence of a development taking place on the Tasman Sea, but its intensity cannot be gauged just now. It is likely to make its appearance in the course of the next few days. In the meantime, the barometer is due to fall, particularly in the South, and easterly winds, backing to freshening northerlies, are probable, with the weather fair to cloudy and increasing haziness likely generally.
