MINIATURE RIFLES
WELLINGTON WORKING MEN'S CLUB.
The annual meeting of the W.W.M.C. Miniature Rifle Club was held recently' the president, Mr. A. E. Ballard, presiding over a large attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet showed that the club was sound financially; the receipts totalling £37 9s sd, and expenditure £34 Is sd, leaving a credit balance of £3 8s cash in hand. The Management Committee brought forward certain new. rules which were unanimously confirmed by the meeting. The election of officers resulted as follows : —President, Mr. A. E. Balla'-d ; vice-presidfent, Mr. T. Holt; club captain, Mr. J. Sullivan; vice-captain. Mr. J. Price; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Collins; committee, Messrs, J. Murray, J. Moore, R. Harris : J. Sinclair, and R. Dunstall.
On behalf of the Management Committee the chairman presented the lion, secretary with a gold pencil as a mark of esteem for past services. Results of trophies shot for during the past season are as follow:—Presi^ dent's trophy, J. Murray; vice-presi-dent's trophy, A. Collins; Messrs. R. Prince and E. Lane's, W. Dougao ; Mr. E. Jones's, T. Holt; Mr. T. Presslev's. J. Price; Mr. R, Curry's, V. Barnes ; Mr. H. Cummins's. W. Woods; Mr T Willmot's, W. Blythe; Mr. E. Short's, J. Sinclair; Mr. J. Kent's, V. Barnes; Mr. G. Lindsay's, A. Collins; Mr. W. Wood's, J. Murray; Mr. J. Price's, J. Moore; Mr. J. Murray's, J. Price; Mr. J. Sullivan's, J. Murray; Mr. A. Collins's, J. Moore ; Robertson championship cup and Ellis and Manton's, Ltd., gold medal, J. Murray. •' A team was entered in the "B" grade interclub matches of the Wellington Miniature Rifle Association and met with moderate success. Better results should be attained in the new season with an increased active membership^ and an up-to-date range on the club's premises.
