,„ LEVIN, 31st January. | llie weather conditions for People's j Uay or the Levin Show tended to spoil a real good show, an d what otherwise would have been the most successful function yet held by the Horowhcnua A. and P. Association. Heavy showers lell dumis the afternoon, but notwithstanding^ this the attendance was excellent. Great interest was taken in the many exciting competitions held during, the day, and the grand parado of stock and horses was witnessed by a largo crowd of interested spectators. A word ot jH-aise is due to the officials and secretary for the capable manner .n which the show was managed. The Hon. R, I. Bollard, and Messrs. W. H. Field and J. Linklater, M.l'.'s. were among those present. It is pleasing to know that the show was a thorough financial success, and fully justified the hard work put into it by all concerned. The following are additional results of the principal events:— Best Turnout,- horse, trap, and harness.—A. Horn (Ohau). Shetland Pony.—Miss Phyllis Butter-worth'-s (Shannon) Flora Titch. Pony Mare or Gelding, 12£ hands and under.—P. J. Aplin's Sweet. Tip- . perary. The same animal won the class not exceeding 14 hands. Galloway Pony, 14 hands, ridden by boy 18 years.—J. Proctor's (Levin) Kitty. • " Weight-carrying Hack, 14 stone or over.—D. G. Smith's (KaUariki) Muritai. it Lightweight. Hack.—R. S. Mitchell's (Koputaroa) Kismet. Mare or Gelding suitable for Hunter.— B. G. Smith's Muritai. Lady's Hack, ridden by lady.—R. S. Mitchell's Kismet. Best Lady Rider.—Mrs. D. Becker (Castlecliff). Ladies' and Gentlemen's Hacks.—Miss M. Stewart's Gentleman Jack, and R. S. Mitchell's Kismet. Cob, not exceeding 15 hands, up to 12 stone.—T. Devine's (Weraroa) Trooper. Singly Harness Horse, shown in harness.—L. Bevan's (Manakau) Ja£k. Single Harness Horse, under 15 hands.—A. Horn's (Ohau) entry. Single Harness Pony.—Miss B. Waller's (Himitangi) Silver Star.
