COLD AND SHOWERY
Rain made its appearance in Wellington last night, accompanied by a strong wind, and those who ventured out last evening without coats and umbrellas had reason to regret their actionl There has been a steady fall of rain again to-day, but the ,wind has lost much of its strength.^ The westerly, disturbance is still located in the South, but has moved further east since last night. Strong westerly winds have given place to south-westerlies, and, changeable and squally conditions havo been experienced, with rain in many parts. Heavy rain fell during, tho night in the southern-, most districts. The forecast to-day istor moderate to strong southerly winds, and cold and showery weather generally. Tho barometer is due to rise everywhura.
