ROBBER SENTENCED
IMPRISONMENT FOR PAUL EEMPRIERE.

PauL'Lempriere, the Frenchman who robbed the West Perth Post Office on 17tli January, pleaded guilty to all charges except one, and was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on each of the first two, and three months on each of. the'second two counts, the sentences to t>e cumulative.
A' sensational robbery occurred1 when ,a well-dressed man entered the West Perth Post Office and, covered the manager with a revolver. The invader took £42 from a cash drawer and escaped with police in pursuit. The fugitive fired several shots at' the pursuing police, and, holding up a motor-cart, driver by the »'4 of the revolver, he "eventually escaped". .On 24th January Lempriere -was arrested and charged with the crime.' The police allege that Lempriere is identical with.Claude Devere, who last November escaped from. Bendigo Gaol.
