LIBERAL-LABOUR FEDERATION
A meeting of the executive of the Hutt branch of the Liberal-Labour Federation ' was held in De Lissa's Hall, Petone, last evening, when delegates from all parts of the electorate were present. Mr. J. Kerr, president, presided. I Mr. T. M. Wilford attended, and received . a warm welcome home after his trip to the East. j Resolutions of sympathy were passed to Mrs. Mat-son on the death o£ ■-. Mr. Robert Matson, and to Mrs. Purdy on the death of Colonel Purdy. Both deceased were prominent members of the federation. Reports and expressions of goodwill to Mr. Wilford .were mado by Messrs.'Macaslrill, Clendon, August, Dees, Bur- - gess, Ryder, Potts, and Reed. The opinion was freely expressed that the Liberal-Labour Party was becoming stronger throughout the Dominion. Mr. Wilford shortlv addressed the [ meeting, and promised to' deliver an address in Petone on Ms trip to the East. I Regret was felt at the* illness of Mrs. \ Wilford, and the hope was expressed .-that she would continue to make satis- ' factory progress and soon be able to visit the electorate, where she was held in'l such high esteem. . Sub-committees were set up to arrange for a monster welcome home to Mr. \\'s--ford on the 12th.
