PORT NICHOLSON BAND.
The Port Nicholson Band will give a special recital at the Grand Opera House on Sunday evening. The band is to compete at the forthcoming Christchurch contest, and to grve patrons an opportunity of hearing the test pieces, "A Life for the Czar" and "The Flying Dutchman," the management have decided to place this concert on prior to the band's departure. The band will be assisted by seme ef the Deminipn's mpst brilliant artists. Patrons are advised te be early in order te secure a seat.
